Mount Tangkuban Perahu is an active stratovolcano located in West Java, approximately 30 kilometers north of the city of Bandung. Its name, which means “Upside-Down Boat”, comes from a famous local legend about Sangkuriang, who is said to have kicked a boat upside down, forming the mountain.
